The BANAL Fund Update: State Of The Fund Address 2012 2011 was a bland year for celebrities getting out of hand. The celebrities must have started to feel how bad the current economy is and realized that their off screen antics would make it even more difficult for them to find work. It was a difficult year to manage this fund. 2012 is looking very promising. The BANAL Fund is only a few million dollars away from the target of $100 and then delisting. This should be an easy task and should happen very quickly. VHUDG has Journey 2 opening this year. CKLEI has American Reunion. KSUTH has been promising that a 24 movie will begin filming in spring. JCARE is currently filming Burt Wonderstone. Arnold Schwarzenegger has The Expendables 2 opening this year. AJOLI has a starbond adjust and movie delist coming soon for In The Land Of Blood And Honey. MEFOX got herself a role in an indie film that opens next month, and somebody remembered that Miley Cyrus has two films that were just sitting on the shelf collecting dust. Jaime Pressly has a new FOX TV show, and KSUTH has one too! The BANAL are not really BANAL anymore. The dust has settled, apologies have been made, sins have been forgiven and the BANALs have gone back to work. It is ironic that the fund is so near delist at a time that there really is no longer a need for it. The BANAL Fund was originally started by another HSX Player almost six years ago, during a time when Tom Cruise was jumping on couches, Christian Bale was cursing at his mother at the top of his lungs, Russell Crowe was throwing phones at people who couldn't help him place a phone call, and Alec Baldwin was leaving nasty voice mails to his daughter. I was asked to be the SONYX fund manager for 2008-2009 run, but after a few months, I passed that fund to a friend who was looking to get more involved at HSX. A month later, I was asked to be manager of the abandoned DIXIE Fund (Fund Of The South). I delisted DIXIE on 1/29/10 and it was less than a month before I was asked to take over the abandoned BANAL Fund (at $43.81). It has been a slow (but steady) 2 years. I do not plan to start a second incarnation of the BANAL Fund. As expressed above, there does not seem to be a large amount of BANAL activity happening nowadays. I was only the manager because HSX asked if I could help the game and delist the fund. After BANAL is delisted, I expect that HSX will probably ask me to take over any fund that is currently abandoned, and if all the funds are being actively managed, I will most likely start/resurrect a theme fund so I can be a fund manager from the start to the finish (for the first time). Thank you for the support... we sure had fun. Below is a list of the starbonds who qualified and were used by the BANAL Fund. Clicking on their photos links you to their HSX starbond pages. Below the photos is a quick summary of why the starbonds were included in the BANAL Fund. Memories Chace Crawford was arrested for smoking marijuana... and that cost him the lead role in the Footloose remake. Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years of prison for not paying his income taxes for almost 10 years. Vanessa Hudgens had her cell phone hacked and nude photos of her were leaked on the internet (just before one of her movies was opening). A year later (just before another one of her movies was opening), a second batch of nude photos of her were leaked, causing people to be suspicious. Chris Klein was arrested in 2005 for DUI and sentenced to five years of probation. A month after his probation ended in 2010, he was arrested again for DUI. The public did not mind much, ...FOX found somebody who looked a lot like CKLEI, and cast CMONT in the TV series Glee with an almost exact same storyline that CKLEI had in the first American Pie movie Rip Torn has a history of drinking. Last year he got drunk and was found inside a bank (that he broke into) in the middle of the night, holding a loaded gun. Mel Gibson went thru a very nasty divorce, and then got his girlfriend pregnant and then went thru a very nasty custody battle for the baby, in which the girlfriend accused Gibson of assaulting her (which police investigated and found to be false). Anna Paquin got married... then announced to the world that she is bi-sexual. Bret Ratner directed a scene in the movie 'New York I Love You', then he announced to the world that the scene was autobiographical... he lost his virginity to a paraplegic who was dangling from a tree in Central Park. Too much information. Chris Brown is still having trouble being accepted by the general public. He has had a few hit songs and appeared in a few videos for other performers, but people at large still are not willing to forget that he pulled his car to the side of the road and majorly beat up his girlfriend (at the time), singer Rihanna, and then left her stranded on the side of the road. It makes him mad when interviewers bring up that incident and he has to keep telling the press that he has attended anger management classes. When NBC's Today Show did not believe him, he stormed off the set and trashed his dressing room (and even threw a chair through a window). Gerard Depardieu really had to go to the bathroom but was asked to wait until the airplane had taken off. He claims that he could not wait that long, so he dropped his pants and urinated in the aisle of the airplane. Russell Brand was in the BANAL Fund for being Russell Brand. Andy Dick was arrested after he walked across a restaurant parking lot and ripped the shirt off of a girl he did not know and started fondling her bare breasts. He was arrested for sexual assult and I believe is still in prison. He has apologized... he didn't realize that she was a minor. Roman Polanski is accused of giving alcohol to a 13 year old girl and then having sex with her. This happened many years ago, but Polanski fled the country and the matter has never been settled. The last two years have been a legal tug of war to have Polanski return to California and stand trial. Lindsey Lohan was arrested for DUI and placed on probation. While on probation, she was arrested for possession of cocaine. She was ordered to court appointed rehab, but was released by the rehab after a couple of days claiming that she was not an addict. The next month she was again arrested for DUI and placed on probation. She missed one of her court probation review appointments because she was partying at the Cannes Film Festival and claims her passport was stolen. Her license was revoked and she was made to wear an ankle bracelet that would monitor the alcohol level in her blood. She was again arrested for DUI, with possession of cocaine, and was again ordered to rehab. While in rehab, she was charged with assaulting a nurse at the facility. After being released from rehab, LLOHA was accused of felony burglary when she tried on an expensive necklace and walked out the door with it. Lohan claims that the jewelry store was interested in hiring her as a spokes model for their company and she was trying on jewelery and had forgotten about the necklace when she left. A felony conviction would land Lohan in jail for a number of years. A felony conviction would also be a violation of her parole for her DUI and cocaine possessions which would add additional years to her jail sentence. Lohan was sentenced to community service cleaning the Los Angeles morgue and substance abuse counseling while awaiting the outcome of her felony case.. After a six month period had passed, the court found that Lohan had only attended something like 4 hours of counseling (out of like 30 hours ordered) and that Lohan had not performed any community service at the morgue (she claims she could not find the front door of the morgue). Lohan posed nude in Playboy, but the issue was not successful because all the photos were leaked on the internet before the issue hit the stands. Lohan was fired from one movie over this drama and replaced in another movie. Joaquin Phoenix grew out a beard and started acting weird. He announced that he was quitting his award winning acting career to become a rapper. Below is his first single. It was later revealed that this was all a publicity stunt for a Borat style movie/documentary which starred Joaquin Phoenix as a white rapper. Casey Affeck was the director of that mockumentary and got accused of sexual harassment by one of the film's co producers after she claims that she was forced to attend drug fueled orgies organized by Affleck that had nothing to do with the project. Michael Bay and Megan Fox had a very public feud after the filming of Transformers 2 which caused Fox to be fired on the first day of filming of Transformers 3. Paris Hilton dead delisted but was included in the fund for various leaked sex tapes and being arrested for drug possession at the World Cup. Luckily, her friend claimed responsibility and was sent to jail, while Hilton was set free. Randy Quaid was dead delisted but was included in the fund for getting arrested multiple times after running up a $10k hotel bill and then sneaking out in the middle of the night. He was arrested and released on 20k bail. Then arrested again because he failed to show up for the trial,... and released on another 20k bail. Then arrested again because he failed to show up again for the trial... and released on anothe 50k bail. Then arrested again because he failed to show up for the trial. He eventually made a business trip to Canada, and is still there... because he is not welcome back to the US. CommentsLeave a Reply | The Overexposed FundWelcome to the home of The Overexposed Fund (aka BANAL). This fund will invest in starbonds (and their projects) whose off screen antics have tarnished their image, got them in trouble with the law and/or have made them more famous for their antics than their screen time.
